In addition to a small game hunting license, a supplemental migratory bird permit is required to hunt for migratory birds.

The migratory bird permit is required for all persons 16 years of age or older. Furthermore, a migratory bird authorization is required for all persons to hunt band-tailed pigeon, brant, sea duck, snow goose, and southwest Canada goose.
