Preservation of property an inmate brings to prison

The department shall preserve money and effects, except clothes, in the possession of an inmate when admitted to the prison and, subject to the crime victim and witness assistance surcharge under s. 973.045 (4) and the deoxyribonucleic acid analysis surcharge under s. 973.046 , shall restore the money and effects to the inmate when discharged.
