The board of curators of the historical society shall have the same authority to participate in the formation and maintenance of a nonprofit-sharing corporation for the purpose of providing and operating a central library depository as is conferred upon the board of regents of the University of Wisconsin System under s. 36.11 (12) . Section 36.11 (12) shall, so far as applicable, apply to the board of curators of the historical society and for the purposes of this section whenever the words "board of regents" appear in s. 36.11 (12) they shall be deemed to mean "board of curators of the historical society".
