Section 853j · Examinations for promotion

Nothing in this Act shall be construed to modify the provisions of existing law relating to examination of officers for promotion, and no officer shall be promoted until he shall have passed the prescribed examinations.

This Act, referred to in text, means act June 3, 1948, ch. 390, 62 Stat. 297, as amended, known as the “Coast and Geodetic Survey Commissioned Officers’ Act of 1948”, which enacted sections 853a to 853o and 853p to 853t of this title, amended sections 852a and 852b of this title, and repealed sections 854b and 854c of this title.
