Perry is a city in Taylor County, Florida, United States. The population was 6,847 at the 2000 census. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 6,703. It is the county seat of Taylor County. The town was named for American Civil War general Edward A. Perry, who was the 14th Governor of Florida.
