Harrogate is a city in Claiborne County, Tennessee, United States. The community has been known as "Harrogate" since the 1800s, but did not incorporate as a city by that name until 1993. The United States Census Bureau formerly treated Harrogate as a census-designated place (CDP) called Harrogate-Shawanee. At the time of the 2000 census the CDP had a total area of 10.8 km² (4.2 mi²), all land, and a population of 2,865.
