Carrollton is an unincorporated community in Isle of Wight County, Virginia, United States. It encompasses the entire area from the border with Newport News in the James River, east to the border with the city of Suffolk, south to the area of Benn's Church, and west to the border of the town of Smithfield. The seat of Carrollton lies near the intersection of U.S. Routes 17 and 258 and State Route 32 at the Post Office. Carrollton does not include the communities of Battery Park or Rescue. Carrollton is located near the southern end of the James River Bridge, across from Newport News, VA. Carrollton has recently experienced growth as a bedroom community.
