* § 507. Prohibitions. Except as authorized by federal and state law,\nand regulations promulgated pursuant to section five hundred eight of\nthis article, the sale, distribution or export of industrial hemp grown\nor cultivated pursuant to this article is prohibited.\n * NB Effective until March 8, 2020\n * § 507. Licensing; fees. 1. No person shall grow, process, produce,\ndistribute and/or sell industrial hemp or products derived from\nindustrial hemp in the state unless (a) licensed biennially by the\ncommissioner or (b) authorized by the commissioner as part of an\nagricultural research pilot program established under this article.\n 2. Application for a license to grow industrial hemp shall be made\nupon a form prescribed by the commissioner, accompanied by a per-acre\nlicense fee and a non-refundable application fee of five hundred\ndollars.\n 3. The applicant shall furnish evidence of his or her good character,\nexperience and competency, that the applicant has adequate facilities,\nequipment, process controls, testing capability and security to grow\nhemp.\n 4. Growers who intend to cultivate hemp for cannabinoids shall be\nrequired to obtain licensure from the department pursuant to article\ntwenty-nine-A of this chapter.\n 5. A renewal application shall be submitted to the commissioner at\nleast sixty days prior to the commencement of the next license period.\n * NB Effective March 8, 2020\n
§ 507. Prohibitions. 1. Except as authorized by federal and state law,\nand rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, the growth,\ncultivation, sale, distribution or export of hemp is prohibited.\n 2. Hemp produced outside the state and sold or distributed in the\nstate shall meet all standards established for hemp under state law,\nrules and regulations.\n
