§ 540. Information about food stamp, utility, and rental and mortgage\nassistance programs. The commissioner shall establish procedures whereby\neach person who files a claim for unemployment insurance pursuant to\nsection five hundred ninety-six of this article, shall receive\ninformation about the food stamp program provided by the office of\ntemporary and disability assistance pursuant to subdivision six of\nsection ninety-five-a of the social services law and the utility\nassistance and rental and mortgage assistance programs available through\nthe division of housing and community renewal and the office of\ntemporary and disability assistance. The commissioner shall also provide\ninformation about such programs on the department's website. Such\ninformation shall be prominently displayed and easily accessible by\nindividuals filing a claim or certifying for unemployment benefits.\n
