Utah Code § 58-72-302

Qualifications for licensure

Known as the Acupuncture Licensing Act

The act spans §§ 58–58 (12 sections).

An applicant for licensure as an acupuncturist shall:

(1) submit an application to the division on a form the division approves;

(2) pay a fee to the division as determined under Section 63J-1-504;

(3) meet the requirements for current active certification in acupuncture under guidelines the National Certification Board for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine establishes as demonstrated through a current certificate or other appropriate documentation;

(4) pass the examination the division requires by rule;

(5) establish procedures, as the division defines by rule, which shall enable patients to give informed consent to treatment; and

(6) meet with the board, if requested, for the purpose of evaluating the applicant's qualifications for licensure.
