Qualifications for licensure

As of January 1, 2025

An applicant for licensure as an acupuncturist shall:

(1) submit an application to the division on a form the division approves;

(2) pay a fee to the division ~~as determined under~~ Section 63J-1-504;

(2) pay a fee to the division that the division determines in accordance with Section 63J-1-504;

(3) meet the requirements for current active certification in acupuncture under guidelines the National Certification Board for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine establishes as demonstrated through a current certificate or other appropriate documentation;

(3) meet the requirements for current active certification in acupuncture under guidelines the National Certification Board for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (NCBAHM) establishes as demonstrated through a current certificate or other appropriate documentation;

(4) pass the examination the division requires by ~~rule;~~

(5) establish procedures, as the division defines by ~~rule,~~ which shall enable patients to give informed consent to treatment; and

(6) meet with the board, if requested, for the purpose of evaluating the applicant's qualifications for licensure.
