* § 512. Industrial hemp economic development. The commissioner shall\nconsult and cooperate with the New York State urban development\ncorporation with respect to the funding and support of research\nconcerning industrial hemp and businesses involved in the processing and\nmanufacturing of industrial hemp products.\n * NB Effective until March 8, 2020\n * § 512. Industrial hemp data collection and best farming practices.\nThe commissioner shall have the power to collect and publish data and\nresearch concerning, among other things, the growth, cultivation,\nproduction and processing methods of industrial hemp and products\nderived from industrial hemp and work with the New York state college of\nagriculture and life science at Cornell pursuant to section fifty-seven\nhundred twelve of the education law and the Cornell cooperative\nextension pursuant to section two hundred twenty-four of the county law\nto promote best farming practices for industrial hemp which are\ncompatible with state water quality and other environmental objectives.\n * NB Effective March 8, 2020\n
§ 512. Transferability; change in ownership or control. 1. Licenses\nissued under this article are not transferable, absent written consent\nof the commissioner.\n 2. A license shall become void by a change in ownership, substantial\ncorporate change or change of location or acreage grown without prior\nwritten approval of the commissioner. The commissioner may promulgate\nrules and regulations allowing for certain types of changes in ownership\nwithout the need for prior written approval.\n
